Pakistan flooding: Evacuations ordered as large lake reaches maximum capacity

 September 6 (UPI) -- Severe flooding in Pakistan pushed the country's largest lake to the brink Tuesday, threatening a major disaster in the region that has killed more than 1,300 people since monsoon rains began weeks ago. They lost their lives. Lake Manjar, located in Sindh province, is at risk of overflowing due to historic floods that have devastated the Middle Eastern country for more than two months. The new threat emerged after monsoon rains flooded large parts of the country. Recently, the authorities decided to carry out three controlled releases of water from Lake Manjar after floods in two nearby towns. Approximately 135,000 inhabitants were evacuated in the towns of De and Jamshoro. According to the National Disaster Management Agency of Pakistan, a total of 33 million people were affected by the rains and floods, of which 1,300 people died.
